Our Executive Team at the Australian Sports Foundation is supported by a highly reputable and experienced Board of Directors chaired by Mark Stockwell who is an esteemed Olympian and businessman.

The board is responsible for the overall governance, management and strategic direction of the organisation and for delivering accountable corporate performance in accordance with the organisation’s goals and objectives.

Mark Stockwell OLY, DUNIV

Mark is an Olympian and a businessman. During his swimming career he represented Australia in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and 1986 Edinburgh Commonwealth Games, before joining the family business.

As Managing Director of Stockwell, he has overseen the company’s diversification as an investor, developer, builder, project manager, property manager and funds manager of industrial, retail, commercial, residential, retirement and leisure developments. In 2011 Mark chaired the successful bid by the Gold Coast to host the 2018 Commonwealth Games and was Mayor of the Athletes Village during the Games.

He is a Trustee of the Stockwell Foundation, founded with his wife Tracy to benefit children in need, and is an Honorary Doctorate of Griffith University.
